Tara Donovan Untitled (straight pins), Untitled (toothpicks), Untitled (glass) all 2004
They are all held together by friction and gravity, you do sometimes have to sweep up the extras that fall on the ground. You wouldn’t want anyone slipping, would you?
Anywho, she is having her show up at the Des Moines Art Center and I guess she is attracting record crowds.
The Des Moines Art Center’s (DMAC) “Tara Donovan” exhibition drew the second largest opening fortnight crowds in decades and has been particularly popular with younger audiences. What’s more, those crowds are lingering longer than usual, taking time to check out Donovan’s sculptures from multiple perspectives. That’s exactly what the museum hoped for three years ago when it scheduled Donovan.

Leinenkugel Ads Take Over Minneapolis Skyway
Design work for Leinenkugel’s done by Jacobson Rost
There’s no shortage of beer ads in Minneapolis’ skyway system. The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. has plastered the above-ground system of walkways with advertisements — not just the typical, back-lit signage, but also wall clings, elevator wraps, floor decals and a 12-foot Adirondack chair and sampling events at nearby restaurants and bars. Leinenkugel’s, which recently expanded out of the region to distribute in 49 states, said Minneapolis is still a top market.
“Minneapolis has long been a city of loyal Leinenkugel’s beer lovers and we want to connect with those fans to thank them for their longtime support.” Jake Leinenkugel, president of Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co.
